Introduction: I have over 20-years of experience playing the violins and over 10-years teaching music. I've experienced every type of performance environment and performed all over the world. Additionally, I've attended every type of music festival and learned from world-class musicians. My expertise expands beyond just the violin and includes piano, clarinet, conducting, and composition. Music and playing is very personal so I believe 1 on 1 lessons to be extremely effective and I make it so. I make sure each lesson the students hear improvements and see progress and achieve their own goals the best way possible.

I was very thrilled to have worked with Fedor for a short period of 2 months- had to cut it short because of my job. I do have prior violin experience at an intermediate level at most and can already read sheet music, but decided to pick up my instrument after 3 years of not playing. Our lessons were virtual and I was a tad bit nervous because it was my first time doing lessons online, but Fedor has a great set up and really knows his technology to screen share sheet music as well as instruct you to position yourself to the camera so he can correct your posture. I was surprised and thrilled at how he has such a good eye to correct even the littlest things about my posture and playing. I felt like I definitely improved after one lesson. Pricing can be a tad bit expensive for those, but playing an instrument is not a cheap hobby to begin with. For example, I already had my own instrument and old books that we used in the lessons. I’d say prepare to spend a lot more $$ if you’re a brand new student. With Fedor’s expertise and experience in the field, I’d say his prices are very fair- you get what you pay for. Due to my work I am sad that I am unable to have anymore lessons with him, but I would 100% recommend Fedor to anyone wanting to learn or touch up their violin skills.

Fedor is an excellent diagnostician when it comes to the student's needs in terms of improving their technique, both bow and left hand. He is a well-rounded musician who can not only play very well, he can clearly explain and effectively demonstrate correct technique, teach music theory, and is genuinely devoted to helping the student improve.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer a wide range of options for students with different needs and budgets. Privates Lesson: 1hr - $90 45m - $70 30m - $50 Master Class Group (max 4 people): 1hr - $30 General Group (up to 12) 1hr - $20 The above can be multiplied by 4 to find the average monthly total you can expect for tuition. I also run what's called the RAMP program, you can learn more about on my website In summary, for those interested in economic options for resources and access to personalized help and comments, I offer personalized help starting at just $20 per month, and resources at just $7 per month.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I recommend taking advantage of a free consultation session that I offer to new students. It gives me a chance to learn more about your goals and expectations, as well as an opportunity for you to learn about what options are available for you and the advantages of each. After that, the first lesson called the trial lesson is an opportunity for us to see if I'm a good fit for you and for me to get to know you or your kid and of course to teach you some basics if you are starting out, or to provide you with my comments and recommendations. Because there is always a chance that I'm not a good fit for you or your kid, I offer the trial at 50% off my usual rate. Aside from the consultation session and trial lesson, you will also receive a practice guide outlining what and how to practice between now and the next lesson, tailored to you and your current level so that practicing isn't daunting and frustrating, and instead is fun and exciting! I'll also give you any sheet music of etudes I recommend, including materials that I have designed to help students learn skills quickly and efficiently. If you are new, I'll also give you suggestions on where to obtain an instrument and how to take care of one.
