FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Many of our standard representation in estate planning and business or contract law is flat rate and we provide a 15 minute free consultation to determine how we can help you. More sophisticated matters (ultra high net worth estate planning, complex business deals, estate administration, etc.) Are generally billed hourly. We are able to provide cap amounts and general estimates after the initial consultation on most hourly matters. Discounts may be offered to repeat customers and to account for matters which are less complicated or do not involve tax considerations. Some nonprofit representation is also discounted.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We schedule a free 15 min initial consultation usually by phone conference to evaluate the client's specific needs and detail the terms in a letter (engagement letter) which includes the scope of legal services to be provided, the fee and billing structure including estimates as applicable and, other relevant information. Representation commences once we receive the signed engagement letter and payment of the agreed upon retainer or advance fee on our online portal by e-check, credit or debit, or mailed check to our offices, as the client prefers. We can operate fully remotely and provide our clients access to a secure portal for all communications, correspondence, and case information with 24/7 access.
