Andrew is a great pleasure to work with. I'd been trying to learn the basics from YouTube and other online sources, and decided I needed something more "hands-on." With just my very basic knowledge, Andrew gave me great tips I was able to apply from Day 1 - little flourishes and chord options that made playing more fun and sound better. He has always been prompt and reliable. And, his mix of playing skills along with an ability to communicate music theory in an understandable way also helps me understand the music as the songwriter intended. He is a great teacher.Jun 16, 2018Verified

Andrew has been my 9 year old son's guitar teacher for a year and a half now. Andrew's approach is very kid-friendly. In our case, my son picks the songs he wants to learn, and if Andrew doesn't know them, he will look up the song on the iPad and learn it along with him. I appreciate that he is not only teaching skills, but also modeling how to learn new things. My son has picked up on this, and works on new songs on his own now by looking them up in his chord songbook, finding online tutorials or figuring it out by ear. Along the way, Andrew weaves in the basics like scales and theory. My son says about Andrew: "He is really nice and keeps things at your skill level. If he thinks you're getting really good at one subject, he'll add something more challenging." My son's guitar playing has improved dramatically since he began taking lessons with Andrew, and he has a deeper appreciation for all kinds of music as a result.Sep 6, 2016
Andrew is an excellent guitar and music theory teacher. He knows how to explain theory in a way which is thorough, but also understandable and fun. He is always very punctual, friendly, patient, and accommodating. I cannot recommend highly enough.Jul 6, 2017
