I've been training with Body of Your Dreams for the last two years a couple times a week. I feel more confident and in shape than I've been in a long time. Sean has built a robust fitness plan to help me achieve my goals. He has helped me to build my booty and strengthen my core through an intense squat, deadlift, leg workout. This has been the strong foundation of my plan. In addition, he supplements with HIIT (high intensity interval training). I always leave sore even after all this time which tells me Sean never fails to deliver. One thing I really admire about Sean is that he stresses proper form and has taught me how to lift and exercise properly, and how to make the most of my efforts in the gym. Sean is extremely responsive and makes himself available via phone/text 24/7 and constantly checks in on me which has fueled my motivation. Body of Your Dreams comes with my highest recommendation!

237 to 180 pounds! I have been a chronic weight gain/loss yoyo for 20 years starving myself to get down to 200 pounds and then rocketing back up to 230 pounds in a few weeks. My daughter suggested that I get a personal trainer and working with Sean has been the best investment I have ever made. This time would be different. I went on a long term low fat diet and over a period of 8 months reduced my weight down to 200 pounds. And then I flat-lined (again) and began to yoyo around 200 pounds. I have learned more about “Core” exercises than I knew possibly existed. My body fat analysis has gone from 34.8% to 19.6% with my goal now at 16%. More importantly, I have really enjoyed the workouts. At first we did not do much with the free weights which was alright with me because every time I have in the past I have hurt my shoulder or back and quit exercising altogether. Sean has taught me how to properly use weights and I am using half the weight and obtaining double the results. I really look forward to my workouts and know that I can continue on this routine as a life passion and not be continually disappointed with a lot of effort and poor results. After meeting with several other trainers, I found in Sean the attributes I was looking for in a personal trainer. First of all, he is well educated and experienced in the field of physical fitness. When I first meet with Sean, we established my current level of fitness and my fitness goals. He then devised a routine that was distinct and comprehensive for me while rotating the workouts to ensure complete fitness and variety. He also documents my workouts so I can trend my progress. And if you want to take nutritional supplements to enhance your workouts, Sean is quite knowledgeable in that department too. One of the best reasons for having Sean as my personal trainer is that he is so motivating! He is constantly encouraging, and at the same time challenging me throughout the workout. Often he will do the exercises beside me to help me set the pace or count out each rep while ensuring my posture is correct. You can tell that when Sean is with his client, he focus is his client. And the bonus, of course, is Sean’s personable down-to-earth persona. He is respectful and professional…yet makes you feel like you are working out with an old friend.

I was in the gym one afternoon. I was in "getfit" mode! What I really wanted was a personal trainer to whip me into shape for my wedding and motivate me to go to the gym. I had hired trainers numerous times before, but had not yet found one in DC. Then, there, on the other side of the gym, was Sean, training another woman who lived in my building. He looked friendly and had an athletic build - a good indicator that he would understand how to coach me, an athletic woman, in toning my muscles and strength training. I told Sean that I wanted toned arms and shoulders and a sculpted, muscular, sexy back. My principal goal was to look fit and fabulous in my wedding gown. Of course, toning and honing the rest of me wouldn't be okay by me too! After our first session, I could tell Sean knew what he was doing. He definitely had a better sense of how to get me to the body that I wanted than had any of my other trainers. I started working with Sean twice a week, every week. He encouraged me do aerobic exercise on the other days of the week, particularly encouraging the treadmill and elliptical machine. He was always positive and enthusiastic about reaching my fitness goals. His attitude was very motivational! One month after we started training together, I found my wedding gown. It was strapless, with a fitted bodice, sculpted waist, large skirt, and it dipped down in a "V" shape at the back. While placing the order for my dress, the seamstress took my measurements - waist, chest, hips, thighs. I took a deep breath - I wanted to be smaller and more fit by my wedding day. Sean and I had our work cut out for us - only a beautifully sculpted back, strong arms, and cut shoulders would do the dress justice. Every day that we met, Sean put me through a rigorous routine of upper and lower body exercises and core strengthening routines. Within a month or so, my balance had improved markedly and exercises that had been difficult and tiring at the start were no longer as challenging. Sean always mixed up the routines, as well, so that my muscles didn't get used to any particular moves. Sean tracked my progress through monthly fitness assessments. These indicated improvement, but my first dress fitting would be the ultimate test. The women at the bridal shop smiled and gathered around to watch me try on the dress. I was amazed at how much the dress had to be taken in. Since purchasing my dress earlier in the year, my measurements had all gone down by at least one inch! I was thrilled and couldn't take my eyes off the mirror, where I caught glimpses of the increasingly defined muscles on my back, arm and shoulders. The improvement that I was seeing was an amazing motivator. I ultimately went from a size 8/10 to a size 4/6 for the first time in more than 8 years! The more results I saw, the more fervent I became in our exercise sessions. I was dropping clothing sizes, ultimately finding myself at a size 4/6 for the first time in at least 8 years, and developing musculature I hadn't seen in ages. Friends and family notice the transformation and I was thrilled! My husband and I recently received the photos from our wedding. Thank you Sean for giving me the body that I wanted to shine on my wedding day!

I trained with BYD’s Head Trainer, Sean Berard for nearly four years, from late 2000 until mid 2004. During my time training with Sean, not only did he help me to go from 180 lbs. at 6’ 4” to a toned and muscular 215 lbs. at the same height, but he also taught me how to lift and exercise properly, and how to make the most of my efforts in the gym. He helped me to learn a very powerful workout schedule to achieve the goals I have, and I still use that same workout to this day, nearly four years after training with Sean. I have never had a workout related injury, thanks in part to the techniques that I learned from training with Sean. In addition, I learned how to use supplements to add to the work I put in at the gym. Sean’s training comes with my highest recommendation!
