If you consider a simple priming job the best on the menu that would partially explain the problem and why you would think nine hours priming a room and a wall and half is reasonable and why you would also think that responding to a customer review in this manner is professional. First of all, your tech was not at my house to “correct a mess of a paint job,” he was hired to prime walls that had been professionally painted four years ago because I purchased a new home and am ending my tenancy at my current residence, a luxury condo unit that I have happily rented since relocating to the DC area. Second of all, I never complained about the quality of his work or his level of professionalism. I actually think he did a decent job and was a nice man, which I told him and the woman from your office that I spoke to over the phone. Thirdly, l paid the $591 invoice the same day the entire job was completed. The issue was never about anything other than the time spent to perform the job, as it doesn’t require nine hours to prime a room and a wall and a half, which is exactly what I explained to your agent via phone and messaging repeatedly throughout the completion of the job. I left a poor review because I have a right to do so and it accurately reflects my level of dissatisfaction with the work performed, in that it took an excessively and unreasonably long time in which I bore the responsibility of paying for. For the record, I’m an attorney of over a decade. I own rental properties in Philadelphia that have both been occupied by happy and paying tenants since April 2011. I work with contractors and service providers, such as yourself but minus the poor performance and customer service, in maintaining my properties regularly, which has included priming and painting. I’m also in the process of closing on a new construction in Upper Marlboro, hence the need to prime the walls in my current residence. Clearly, I’m far from a “bum” a “user” or “garbage.” Bums don’t possess two degrees, have a license to practice law, own and maintain multiple properties, work 50 hour plus work weeks or put two children through college. Users and garbage don’t dodge responsibilities and fail to pay for services and products they received, which was not something that occurred in this instance. You were paid and you were paid timely, despite my dissatisfaction, and your technician was treated respectfully throughout the nine hours he was in my home. Your response further evidences your company’s lack of professionalism and poor customer service skills and supports the review I left. If you can’t deal with the fact that not every customer will be entirely satisfied and that you may fall short as a service provider on occasion (it happens to the best of us) then you need to reconsider your desire to stay in a service business. Lastly, if you order whatever you deemed to be the “best on the menu” (I’m assuming that would be a basic hamburger for you considering you liken priming walls as the best on a contractor/handyman menu as if it was the equivalent of installing and cutting custom marble countertops) and it takes them nine hours to cook it and you know for certain that every other fancy restaurant you patronized cooked the same meal in half that time, you would be dissatisfied as well. In any event, I intend to reach out to thumbtack concerning your unprofessional response and will continue to leave reviews that reflect my poor experience with your company, including a screen shot of your message.
