I wanted Paul to stain my new PTL (pressure treated lumber) deck. I had done a LOT of online research and talking to stain vendors' customer help lines. I also have experience staining and maintaning my old deck. It's mind boggling what's out there to choose from with conflicting reviews on the same products. If you get it wrong, you could easily wind up with a peeling or badly worn deck in only a year's time or less! Paul's advice about WHEN to stain, as well as what to use for stain was invaluable and in line with my own experiences. Most important to me, he was able to show me pictures of a deck a year+ after he stained it. I actually did not hire Paul. Why? Because through our discussions and some pictures, he knew my new deck was not yet dry enough and I would run into problems in the spring if I did. Now that's honesty !!!!

Worker removed snow from metal roof. The roof had substancial ice in a valley and he was able to remove most of the snow but a layer of ice remains. He could not remove it without damaging the roof. He was courteous and did the best he could considering the ice. The only con I had was paying by the hour rather than by the job.

Paul gave us an estimate that was very fair. He power-washed the deck and discussed the color stain we wanted. He went to Home Depot and got a sample for us. It was exactly what we wanted. He took his time to insure that the deck was well stained and cleaned up afterwards. Very satisfied with his work. I highly recommend his work. He are some pictures of the finished product.

Power washing starts at: $0.30/sqft, Painting restoration starts at: $1.80/sqft. Both rates scale with the conditions of the deck at your location and how much work it will take to bring it back to a condition you will enjoy.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I can come out and look at the restoration job you have in mind. I can typically do this and quote while on-site, either to your e-mail or right to your wireless printer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing deck and backyard restores since 2000 for myself as a home owner and for friends and family from whom I get a lot of referrals. I have been power washing, painting and doing simple carpentry all my adult life.
