About this pro
Lined up Ed to come over to give us a quote and drove 45 minutes to our other property to meet him. He never showed nor did he call or text.Sep 13, 2018Verified
Ed came out to look at the porch railing that I needed extended so I could let my dog be out there. He scoped out the need in seconds, gave me options, and gave an quote for the labor and an estimate for the materials. The estimate was almost right on, he did the purchasing, and finished the job in a few hours. There was good communication throughout. Three days after posting my request, my dog is now safe on the back porch :) (The other end included a gate, but I don't have a picture of it right now. The post caps were left off on purpose.) I highly recommend the team of Ed and Cassandra.Aug 31, 2018Verified
Contractor did show up when promised however I am disappointed in the finished project. It looks nothing like the job described and agreed on. The walkway is not a smooth level surface and the stone is protruding from the walkway which is unsafe for walking. I was advised of the products to purchase and there was 540 lbs (9-60lb bags)of concrete/mortar leftover from the 900 lbs (15-60lb bags) I was told would be needed, and most of the 1/2 skid of flagstone is remaining after the project was complete. I had some flagstone from a prior project and made them aware and they used those as well. I’m not sure why the larger and smoother stones were not used. I have returned the concrete/mortar (which I did myself in a vehicle) however the landscape supply company will not take back the leftover stone and I will have to try and sell it myself...I did reply to the contractor 2 days ago with my concerns as to why they asked me to purchase so much product when I gave them the sq footage of 55sq ft. and my concerns of the safety of the walkway with protruding stones and what they suggest as they did tell me the work was guaranteed for 2 years. I have not heard back from them at this point so I will take it as a loss but would not hire this contractor again.Jun 2, 2018VerifiedEd E.'s reply
Per Thumbtack we have tried our best to resolve this issue and the customer refused to allow us uphold our warranty for work. After multiple attempts of us trying to correct the issue she would not allow us to. She also seemed to leave out that she had a minimal budget and a stone she already wanted to use so we matched the stone she had and the stone supplier only sells skids in 2 sizes. We also provided her with appropriate drainage and a stone wall to keep her stairs from washing out as they had done previously. We never charged her a dollar more than our initial quote for labor even tho we had gone above and beyond. We also informed her that the mortar may settle because it was a large are and it may need another coat that we would be willing to comeback and lay for free. All before we even left the property. I'm sure she said she loved it. Lastly she posted this review not even 12 hours after emailing us. We followed up with her the day after we completed the project on Memorial day and no word for 7 days and not even giving a real chance to reply. Unfortunately we where unable to satisfy this customer yet our happy customers keep coming back because we never do the bare minimum. We always look to go above and beyond for our customers because your dreams are our creations and nothing makes us happier than to see your dreams come true.
E-W came at agreed upon times for both estimate and project date. Work was completed ahead of estimated time and to us, the homeowners, as described and promised. Had a 2 foot high 15 foot long stone wall reassembled and motored. Also, an additional 5 foot long 5 feet high stone wall section needed much repair, both areas taken care of as stated.Jul 17, 2018Verified
Ed was very responsive to text messaging which is my preferred method of communication. He was able to give a pretty spot on estimate off of pictures I sent him. Even came out to do the work on July 4th! Try to find another contractor that would do that. Did a great job with the work and have already hired him for a second job.Jul 4, 2018VerifiedEd E.'s reply
It was a great pleasure to work with you. We can't wait to get the next project started and hopefully many more to come for this home and any that follow. Letting our family help your growing family flourish and thrive without loosing important family time. Thanks again for the review James!
