The Unmistakable Dog
About this pro
Takes care of my dogs as if they are her own.Jun 8, 2018
I have a 3 year old miniature schnauzer named Gia. My reason for having her join the pack was to get her more comfortable around other dogs. I spent a lot of time working with Gia and she is a good well trained dog except in this area. I couldn't get her over her fear of other dogs. She would bark and carry on whenever she saw another dog. She has been walking with the pack for a few months now and when Melissa picks her up she runs to the car and jumps in, she can't wait to see the other dogs. I would recommend Unmistakable Dog to anyone. Melissa does a wonderfully professional job. Linda M.Oct 16, 2015
Melissa has been professional from the start. We had a very energetic, rescue Pitbull (Ginger) that we weren't sure if we would be able to truly handle. Melissa started doing daily walks with Ginger and we immediately saw a difference in the way she responds to loose leash walking and jumping on people. She's become so obedient. We couldn't have done it without Melissa's dedication to what she loves doing most. Ginger is a better dog today and we are better owners because of her.Oct 5, 2015

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Loose Leash walking or Pack Walking: It is impossible for us to truly list what it will cost to make your pet UNMISTAKABLE. All of our consultations are free. At that time we will meet with you to discuss your goals, evaluate the skills of your pet and discuss an action plan that is best for you and your pooch. The Unmistakable Dog works on a Mary Poppins scale, as your dog masters skills, prices to maintain those skills will drop dramatically. For example, if your goal is for your dog to walk calmly on a loose leash floating effortlessly beside you with a smile, we can do that! The average price range for loose leash lessons is $25 to $40 per lesson, which can take from 3 days to two weeks. Once your dog is loose leash trained and can walk in a pack of other loose leash trained dogs, the price of the walk can be as low as $20 per walk at a minimum of 3 times a week.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?During a brief interview process, we identify the needs of of you and your dog and ways to better your relationship. Using a team approach, we develop a plan to reach pet parents goals. We currently serve the Medford/Marlton side of Burlington County and Camden County.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? While education is teaching special needs children, I have been in rescue for 7 years. I volunteered in open intake shelters, fostered dogs more dogs than I can count, and managed about 20 foster homes at a time. After burning out working with autistic children, I tried sales and was really good at it, but hated being locked in 4 walls all day long. I am an on the go kind of person, and LOVE being outdoors, in the woods, and ON THE GO! As a pack leader, I have the unique ability to do all that I love! I just love picking up an excited pup, to go for a car ride to pick up his buddies, have a structured walk in a safe neighborhood, and bring them home tired and satisfied. In the 3 short years I have been pack walking, I have had the exciting opportunity to attend workshops and seminars from some of the best trainers in the country. Most of them have become amazing friends and mentors in my journey to create a better life in dogdom. I am a proud member of the International Association of Canine Professionals; I train under the Balanced Training model and am the co-founder of Balanced Buddies Res-Q. I firmly believe that the foundation for a mentally, physically and emotionally happy dog is structured exercise, quality nutrition and love.
