- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For Corporate functions my prices are $150 per hour (two hour min.) Weddings and Engagement photos are priced by time spent: 1-3 hours $500, 3-5 hours $750, 5-8 hours $1250. Executive sittings (on location) $175-$250 Family Portraits (1-2 hours) $200 Clients are entitled to all the usable shots with full rights.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to meet with new or potential customers at the first opportunity. Getting on a first name basis right away helps clients feel more at ease. People aren't always comfortable taking photos so it's important to include them in the process as soon as possible so they know up front what to expect. Depending on the project, it may be necessary to communicate several times before a shoot to meet a client's expectations.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in environmental design and was initially trained in the armed forces as a photographer. I've worked for a local utility over 30 years as a photographer, designer and event coordinator. For the last ten years I've made annual trips to the Wedding & Portrait Photography conference, taking instruction courses in all aspects of equipment and lighting techniques. This instruction has helped me specialize in advertising and marketing for print.
