FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Event needs are so specific and vary so greatly that it's difficult to provide a standard price. For corporate and non profit events and fundraising consulting, my hourly rate ranges form $35-$50 depending on what the job entails. Weddings and milestone events tend to work a little differently, as it's not always possible to bill couples on an hourly basis, but rather to be available at all time to provide agreed upon services. That's why it's normally better for all parties to agree on a price for the whole job- mine start at $1,000 and can go anywhere up to $15k.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I think it's important to do a lot of information gathering. I like listening to a client and understanding their needs - I will rarely inject my personal style or opinion unless something absolutely won't work or fit in budget. My job is to make sure the event is prefect for the couple, family or client and active listening is he first step to accomplishing that. From there we'll talk through details and needs and, if you think I'm the right fit for the job, I'll submit a proposal including cost and role details.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a marketing major in college and have been working in the events industry for 9 years.
