- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist in North Carolina, # 14761. I am a Craniosacral Therapist through the Upledger Institute, a Certified Aromatouch Therapist and Reiki practitioner. My therapeutic massage treatments focus on balancing the autonomic nervous system for healing and relaxation. Treatments include pure therapeutic grade essential oils and are customized for each client.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I became interested in natural remedies for health issues while living out of the country for 10 years. I lived in Guam, Bali and Brazil. Health and medicine are completely different in these places; with a focus on nutrition, real food and natural herbs, oils, body and spiritual work on problems in your life. Then, about 7 years ago, after years of seeing specialists that said there was nothing wrong with me and wanted me to take Prozac, I found Dr. Chauvin at Cape Fear Chiropractic. He knew what was wrong within minutes of going over my chart and speaking with me and an initial exam. Within two weeks of following his advice, my life changed! He also figured out what was going on with my 5 year old daughter, and she had been to Miami Children's Hospital, Duke Children's Hospital and UNC Children's Hospital and no one had been able to help her. The enlightenment and good health that resulted from my first visit to see Dr. Chauvin led me on a path to study nutrition and natural healing.
