FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The biggest thing that determines the price is how many musicians you choose. A string quartet (four musicians) will have a higher cost than a string duo or piano/viola duo (two musicians). Also, many people assume that there is a set hourly cost. While this is somewhat true, the initial cost for the first hour is going to be higher than adding additional hours. This is because the majority of the work for us comes BEFORE your event. We are coordinating with you and possibly your other vendors. We are preparing and brushing up on your music. We are traveling to your event. This is in addition to the fact you are hiring professional musicians who have worked their whole lives to develop their skills, pursuing multiple university degrees in music performance. Once we are there, adding additional hours is significantly cheaper than the initial cost. So, just let us know what you need!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will provide a quote to you based on exactly what you express as your needs in your initial contact. We'll then discuss your needs more in depth. We'll ask and answer questions about your event. We'll discuss various options. We'll tweak the quote if you decide you want to go with a different ensemble (i.e. trio instead of quartet), or a different length of time. Then, we will send you a contract, which can be signed online. After that, a small deposit is due, and we are off to the races!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
* Every one of our musicians has a Bachelors and Masters in music performance on their specific instrument. About half of our musicians have higher degrees such as a PhD or Artist Diploma in music. * Golden Scroll Soloists has been coordinating weddings and events since 2005, so we have 13 years of on-the-ground training.
