FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Though I have an hourly rate for smaller jobs, I prefer to quote based on the scope of the project. It depends on whether the client is prepped with all the content or requires help in developing or editing it. Research and licensing of stock photography or reviewing existing photos or graphics to be incorporated can add time. Faster turn-around can increase a quote. There are more factors, but being clear with the client up front and have good, timely communication between all parties involved will keep costs lower.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's important to KNOW the customer and the focus/goals of the job. I ask a lot of questions up front. That little bit of exploration up front makes the process more streamlined for both of us and reduces confusion. As much as I want to be educated by the client about themselves, their service, and product, I like to talk the client through the process and help them understand why some things work better than other.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a combined 25 years of experience in this field. I began as a production artist working for a weekly magazine in South Florida. After that, I had my own business called Images Graphic Design before I went back into doing theatre (8 years). I eventually returned to New England and began doing in-house graphics for a international commercial real estate company, two different international financial institutions, a local financial institution. Due to the private nature of that work and the fact that it was produced while I was working for those businesses, I am not allowed to share it or claim sole authorship, although I did the work. I have had several clients over the years. My more current work includes: logo/branding, website, advertising design, marketing collateral design, trade show display, signage, and more.
