I needed someone to pull down a pasture fence and haul off all posts and wire, including 3 rolls of wire that my son had previously pulled down. I hired Ken Yates since his reviews looked good. Ken said it was a 2 day job but left after 1 day saying he was done except for returning to remove the three rolls of wire. Ken never returned even after 3 more calls to him by me and a text from my daughter. Each time he said he would be back on a certain day but never showed up. He had also left 12 T posts in the ground stating he was "unable to pull them up". Ken was paid in full by me to do this work because I believed he would return to complete his job, but he never did. Ken later stated he was not hired to haul the three rolls of wire, that he was doing me a favor, although he had acknowledged several times being aware he was hired AND paid to do this. My daughter feels bad suggesting that I hire him, and now I have to pay someone else to do the work he left unfinished. If anyone else decides to hire this man, they need to put in writing exactly what he is being hired to do and have him sign it, or he may claim he is doing you a favor and never complete his work.

Ken responded promptly to my post, spent time explaining the "good/bad/ugly" of the project at hand, and fixed the immediately plumbing issues I had at a very reasonable price. We are moving forward with a larger project of replacing carpet with wood flooring and I feel confident it will done well at a price within my budget.

The work hasn't been done yet due to my finances, but Ken is very professional and the estimate is the best i've found

Material pricing is actual cost... Home Depot or Lowe's prices. The customer is never "overcharged" for materials. As for labor cost... it is separate, affordable, and often (not always) negotiable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 35 years of on the job experience in all phases of the construction field. I went to school for HVAC. I love what I do.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started doing landscaping, blacktopping, and running heavy equipment right out of high school then I got into carpentry, electrical,and plumbing. I have been working in the construction field my whole life.
