Dorinda, You made an appointment for a Technician to repair your computer at 7:30pm. on a Friday evening, when most businesses are closed. My Technician called you at the pre-determined time (which you selected) and after a few attempts and 30 minutes without any response from you, I was notified that the call would not transpire. I called you and got your voicemail as well. I then sent you a text in an attempt to communicate with you which also went unanswered. 2 days later you emailed me and apologized profusely acknowledging that the way you handled this situation was completely wrong and inconsiderate. My Technician was on standby for you and was not allowed to take another call for a 30 minute period unnecessarily. Would you accept a dinner invitation at a friends house, then not show up or call? Not even answer your phone when that friend called to see where you were because dinner was being delayed for the other guests waiting for you show? It is a common courtesy to keep an appointment or cancel it before it is due. To make an appointment, then not answer your phone or a text and waste other peoples' valuable time is simply wrong. If you wish to be offended, it is your perogative. We have changed our policy to require payment prior to taking an appointment especially after normal business hours. Job was to take a few hours with a promise that non of our Microsoft home and business would be harmed. After they began working on it we lost everything and it took a month to get our computer back running. The tech Franco would pop in and out working on it via remote entry and wouldn't leave us notes or any updates. I would have to call or text to get information with regard to status. Larry, While it is your right to give us any review you believe is fair, we must respond with the facts: - Your computer was so badly infected with viruses and malware, that your Windows Operating System itself was badly corrupted. The computer took over 20 minutes just to boot up, you could not perform any Windows Updates and Internet Explorer would not function. - The easiest and most common repair (99% of all techs would have done this) would be to re-install Windows, but you would have lost all of your data and programs. - Explaining that your wife needed this computer for schoolwork, we diligently began to repair Windows instead and were able to develop a workaround to get her functional within 2 days. The additional delay was incurred by the Microsoft Repair Tool not functioning, and then waiting for Microsoft to provide us with a corrected version of that tool which still failed to fix your computer. Microsoft suggested that we reload your operating system, which we refused to do. (You would have lost all of your wifes schoolwork data). - We spent over 10 man-hours repairing your computer properly for the fixed fee of $79.00 and never asked you for more money. You couldnt get your shoes shined for $7.90 per hour! - Your computer is completely restored; all updates were performed and now it works perfectly. - Our guarantee states, If we cannot fix your computer for the problem stated when you called us, we will refund 100% of your money. We have refunded money before and there is a Thumbtack Review on February 1, 2016, giving us 5 Stars from someone who in fact received all of his money back. - I spoke with you personally no less than 6 times and know for a fact that my technician did so as well. Larry, if you werent happy with our performance and this computer was detrimental to your wifes schoolwork, why didnt you terminate our services weeks ago and ask for your money back then, instead of allowing us continue to work on it until it was completely repaired? It is sort of like going to a restaurant and not enjoying your meal. If you want to return the dish, only eat 25-30% of it and return it. It is not fair to eat the entire meal, including a glass of wine and desert and then claim that you did not enjoy it and elect to refuse payment. We went above and beyond what anyone else would have done for you, never asked for additional funds, lost money on this transaction, but still persisted, wanting to make you happy. As soldiers, we pride ourselves on our reputation, the mission and our work. We did the right thing for you with this repair.
