Sean from Alula Woodworks made our family a custom slab dining table with a coordinating side table. He was able to capture our vision and stay within our budget. It is beautiful and we continue to receive compliments whenever guests come over. He stuck to the timeline and was easy to communicate with. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I wish I could offer a standard pricing model that would be easy for customers to calculate the cost of their jobs. Since I don't, I am happy to offer free price quotes with a detailed breakdown of the costs of a project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Whether its custom cabinetry or a furniture project, the first step is always a conversation about what someone if look for. After that, I usually like to draw up a sketch of the project and break down pricing for it. If that works, a final drawing is made along with an overview of project details and price points. Then, once everyone is happy with the project design, the fun begins.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a woodworker since 2005 and have spent much of that time designing and building cabinets.
