Introduction: I believe as a teacher it is important to have a balance in the way we teach. Teaching the classics and other various styles of repertoire are very important, but also allowing a student to learn how to develop his/her creativity by improvising and experimenting with different tools, such as technology is also necessary. Technology and creativity is all around us, so what better way to utilize it? Teaching is my passion! I get the most joy out of seeing students from beginning to advance become passionate about music and learning. Not only do they progress in learning to play the piano, they develop inwardly as well by expressing themselves, becoming more confident, more disciplined, showing perseverance and other wonderful qualities.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will set up an interview/free lesson before accepting new students. This way the student (and/or) parent can see the way I teach. It also allows me to get to know the student and find out more about his/her past experience with music.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. Have taught piano for over 25 years. I have been a member of MTNA for over 20 years. I am currently a member of CSMTA, and BAMTA. I Served as branch president in CA, adjudicated piano exams, taught a university non-music major piano class, attends yearly state conventions, and currently attends piano workshops and music teaching seminars regularly.
