- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initially I like to know what it is they need the training for. This allows me to prepared a more tailored class for the individual so that it is appropriate for their needs. I try to be very reasonable on price because this is an essential skill that not only is a requirement for jobs but can be a skill that saves the life of someone they love. After we figure out their needs either I travel to or the client is welcome to come to my home and we have the class.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been involved in some aspect of lifesaving since I was very young starting with being involved in American Red Cross Lifeguarding and swim lessons. I became a junior volunteer on the ambulance when I was 15. When I turned 18 I took my first Emergency Medical Technician course and rode as a volunteer. After I graduated from college I applied to Fire Department of New York where I worked for 3 years. I was a initial responder to the World Trade Center attack. I relocated to VA in 2003 where I worked as an Emergency Medical Technician at the Virginia Hospital Center Emergency Room. I then was hired by Arlington County Fire Department and am currently in my 10th year as a Firefighter/Paramedic.
