What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate for bookkeeping is $40/hour. For basic individual income tax returns, my rates start at $150. Like a mechanic, there are times you realize that there's more going on under the hood than an leaky valve. With tax returns, sometimes they can get a bit more tricky than expected. We will sit down and go over the numbers together and work up a price based upon complexity.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Let's connect via email or phone and go over your needs. With tax, I will email you an tax organizer to complete and submit back to me. With bookkeeping, we will meet up for a cup of coffee and go over the books in person.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My background is in public accounting -- I hit the ground running with several years in bookkeeping and tax before transiting to working in the high tech industry at a staff accountant. I am a QuickBooks pro-certified and have experience with most types of industries.
