Introduction: Quality. The managing partner has an incredible eye for detail, and he sets the standard for the rest of the crew. When the customer sees the finished job. Sometimes it's the excitement of a new kitchen or bath; sometimes the relief of knowing the roof is now watertight. But knowing we've helped make someone's life a little brighter is a great feeling.

We used Cortez Services to remove a load bearing wall, create and install French pocket doors, remove non load bearing beams and replace our existing kitchen tile with new tile. Having never used a contractor before, I was very worried about all the horror stories that you hear regarding general contractors. I am very happy to say Cortez Services gave me nothing to worry about. From the project manager Karen to the general contractor Francisco and his team, the service was amazing. When I had scope changes to the project, they worked with me and I always felt I was getting a fair deal. Cortez does not take advantage of their customers and truly wants you to be happy. The quality of work was exceptional. Our new beam and walls look perfect. The kitchen tile is great. I love our new pocket doors. Everything they did was professional. I would recommend them to anyone and plan to use them again in the future.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We hold a Class A contractor license, and pursue all the education necessary to maintain that license.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Communicate! Most contractors want to please the customer, but that only happens when everyone is clear on the desired outcome. We use a detailed contract with a specified time frame for the work to be done. We also take before/during/after photos, which are especially helpful when the work area isn't easily viewed by the Client.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Just like real crimes are not solved in an hour like they are on TV, real home improvement initiatives are rarely as easy, quick, or clean as they are on HGTV. Be sure to talk to your contractor about the overall process and the conditions in which you'll be living.
