Thanks Cynthia, It was a pleasure to work for you.
Dave did a great job. He replaced the flapper in my toilet and installed 16 knobs on various drawers and cabinets in 3 rooms for me. All of the holes he drilled were done correctly the 1st time and he cleaned up the mess. Based on this experience I am going to hire him again to put up a backsplash behind my range and possibly install some additional shelving in my laundry room/pantry. This was an excellent experience and the cost was far less than I expected because Dave worked quickly and with efficiency. He also has a very pleasing personality.Nov 29, 2017VerifiedD & E Services (Handyman)'s reply
Thanks Michelle, I look forward to working with you again.
I had a small repair of a gate latch. He fixed it within the hour and it works great.Aug 21, 2017VerifiedD & E Services (Handyman)'s reply
I asked Dave to hang a porch swing on my front porch. Due to lack of support in the porch roof, Dave had to climb into the roof and create a structure strong enough to support the swing. Despite all this, he was able to have the swing up by the end of the day. His workmanship is top notch and he won't settle for anything less than perfect, which I appreciate as a customer. Thank you again Dave!Aug 16, 2017VerifiedD & E Services (Handyman)'s reply
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Much of what I do cannot be priced in advance. I may come in for a basic faucet repair and end up having to replace a fixture. It's typically time and materials with discounts to seniors, single mom's and families of deployed military members.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first step for me is to get a handle on what the customer wants done. It may take multiple contacts (via e-mail, text, Thumbtack) for me to get a complete understanding of the project. Phone calls are more efficient. Once I believe it's something I am able to do proficiently, I agree to meet and go through the things that the customer would like to accomplish. Occasionally, what looks simple may not be so simple and I explain what needs to be done to achieve the expected result. With a good understanding in advance, sometimes I can start right in. Often I need materials and to schedule a time to return to start the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Most of my training is hands on. I have worked in both construction and manufacturing taking plumbing and electrical courses required for the jobs that I have had. My experience has taught me to build, fix, adjust, tweak, modify or replace to make things work properly.
