Introduction: I want to help you reach your academic and career goals, and I start from where you are. I have experience tutoring the SSAT, the SAT, the ISEE, the New York Regents chemistry test, and the ACT test. With two graduate degrees in agriculture and a teaching credential in foundational level science, I am prepared to start with the foundations or find greater challenges to inspire you. I enjoy new riddles and getting to the bottom of a tough problem with my students. I love it when I can see the light bulb turn on for them, and especially when I hear back from them and learn that they have reached an academic goal.

DD Levine is the best math tutor ever! Each Saturday she gets on Skype with my 8th grade son, helping him to make sense of the advanced math he faces at his prep school. As a self-described "humanities kid," math is not my kid's strong suit. It's not mine, either. So I was thrilled to find DD. She is patient around various different learning styles, she is intuitive and knows exactly where in a problem my son is having a hard time understanding, and she enthusiastically finds work to challenge my son. I cannot rave enough about her! My son has seen his math scores go up, but perhaps more importantly, he has a new confidence around math that even his math instructor has commented on, several times. Plus, he doesn't have the anxiety-based "math freak outs" that he used to. This alone, has made DD's tutoring so valuable. We've had such a positive experience with DD that my 6th grade son is now working with her. Thank you so much, DD!!!

Ms. Levine is one of the best tutors that I have had the chance to work with. She has a vast science knowledge and an understanding of chemistry very few will ever master. She is a solid math tutor and can assist in whatever K-B.S./B.A. level instruction that one needs help with. What sets her apart from most besides this expansive subject matter knowledge is her kind and helpful nature. She is incredibly patient with learners of any level. Besides recommending her to others, I have used her myself in my Masters and PhD. pursuits. She has a great sense of playfulness that children especially will find encouraging and yet validating in the areas of their academic challenges. Truly cannot recommend her enough.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is flexible. Please talk with me about your budget and we will work something out. I charge $40/hr for the face to face or online session plus one hour of preparation. I will give you a steep discount if you provide me with materials that you want to go over at least 24 hours ahead of our meetings, because that saves me time and makes for a better session.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first session is all about setting goals, choosing assessments that will help us focus our energies on the areas with the most potential for improvement, and finding a schedule and a venue that works for us. I offer in-person tutoring, online tutoring, or a combination of the two.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have two Master of Science degrees and a teaching credential in foundational level science. I have also been tutoring online for the past two years, focusing on preparation for the SSAT and the New York Regents Chemistry test.
