Introduction: My goal is to enable the students to express their musical ideas on the instrument beyond the impediments of technical limitations.
A lot of drummers sadly have to depend on preconceived licks and patterns in order to produce a decent performance.
To solve this problem I have created concepts and use famous books/exercises that explore all the possible combinations that could come up in an improvisational or sight-reading context. While the students go through my method, they find out that the gap between thinking something musical and executing it on the instrument will gradually get smaller until eventually disappearing completely. At that point, the student will be able to pretty much express anything he thinks about or hears in the moment on the drum kit.
