With all the good reviews I thought Eric would be great to paint my doors. He contacted me and setup a date and time to go over the job. Then after that he told me he would do the job after I bought the paint and we scheduled it. He didn’t make it over to paint my doors that day. We rescheduled a few more times and I even took a day off work for him to come over and paint. He then contacted me twice to say he was going to be late. Said he would come over in the morning and by almost 2pm he still wasn’t going to show. At that point I decided to look for someone else. I am sure his work would have been good if he ever had made it over. Adding to My Review in response to Eric's response, saying that this is mistaken identity: This was from me attempting to hire him around the end of May, 2018. So maybe he doesn't remember me. I wanted to make this review earlier, but Thumbtack wouldn't let me until I just happened to try recently. After submitting this review he immediately responded to me: "Please pull your review down , we never had a contract or exchanged any goods for services . You are hurting my business. I said that if squeeze you in if I had time .I ended up not having time , we didn't sign a contract or anything therefore your review isn't. Review, its you upset I didn't have time to squeeze you In. You never hired me , that requires a contract." This clearly indicates that Eric remembers me and is now pretending that he doesn't. He is right, I did not sign a contract with Eric. But he did say he verbally would do my job. Eric missed our first appointment to get an estimate because he got the days mixed up. But he came the next day on time to give me an estimate. He said that this is a quick and small job and he usually does bigger jobs, but that he could still do it. He asked me to buy the paint and he would to me next week about a day/time to do the job. I told him on Monday 05/20/2018 that I got the paint and he would contact me on Thursday to schedule a time. He didn't contact me on Thursday, so I reached out to him on Friday. he responded and Monday (Memorial Day) at 11am. On Monday I texted him at 11:19am asking if he was still going to make it. He texted me an hour later saying he was hung up on another job and would be by later., but didn't say when. He then called me late in the afternoon promising that he would be over the next day in the morning at 9am to do the job. So I stayed home from work so he could come over to paint my doors. He texted me at 9:45am and said it wouldn't be until noon. Then texted me at 11:50 saying that it would be 1pm. I texted him at 1:40pm asking if he was going to make it and had no response. I then texted him 30 minutes later saying that I was going to look for someone else. He never responded to that apologizing for not making his commitment to make it over. If he was so busy and was going to "squeeze me in" I wish he wouldn't have told me he could do the job. It look like Eric does quality work when he can get to it, but his lack of communication at times and failing to make appointments can't make me give him a good recommendation.Nov 19, 2018Verified
So glad we hired Eric! He is super affordable and the quality of his work is still high. He built a beautiful fireplace surround for us and painted a large room (see pictures). He pays close attention to detail, works very hard, is respectful, and extremely knowledgeable. We have high standards and are very pleased with the end result. Also something thats pretty rare... he is very tidy and cleaned up perfectly after he was done. DEFINITELY HIRE HIM!Jan 23, 2017Verified
I cannot say enough about the excellent job that was done painting the exterior of our house and staining our deck. There was a real pride in workmanship and in doing things right that is not always seen. I am keeping his card and will call him first if I have any painting or remodeling needs in the future.Sep 12, 2016Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I give a job estimate in person, when I go to look at the desired work needing to be accomplished. Generally, I'm about 60 cents a square foot for basic brush and roll painting, everything else is more based on skill set involved, and materials needed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Schedule an estimate and talk with the potential client to get a feel for one another and to see what the client is looking for. Submit a bid proposal. Then, walk client through the contracted obligations and make sure they understand and feel comfortable with the contract they are signing. Complete contracted tasks on time and on budget.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?10+ years of on the job safety and skill training . Continual training via local community college courses including business and trade classes.
