We had our basement finished and Tim came in and took a look around and gave us a firm quote. What we liked was how we were responsible for paying the costs of the supplies which was very transparent and allowed us to return unused supplies that we had left over. The quality of the work was great and the job was done faster than I thought. They cleaned up everyday and didn't leave a mess for us to take care of. He also recommended an electrician who we loved and has gone above and beyond anything we could have expected. The electrician replaced our old panel and set up all the wiring in the basement. He was even nice enough to help fix some old wiring issues. Tim and his crew were beyond exceptional and the straightforward way they dealt with any issues or delays was great. We would recommend Tim and his crew to anyone and hope to give referral business to them whenever we can.

DO NOT TRUST TIM KOHNER. Tim avoids liability by having you pay individuals directly and claiming no responsibility for the work of people he brings into your home. Kohner used an unlicensed electrician to move wires in my home and recommended the unlicensed person provide other electrical services that led to significant problems. I felt like I was being taken advantage of when, after paying in full, Tim began demanding additional money without providing change orders and then abandoned the work. I took Tim to court and the judge in my case said: Kohner Construction was negligent, breached our contract and "had no right to refuse to do the contracted work and insist being paid on the additional work they had performed. They should have finished the work in the bid"

While Joe Dieckhaus who also happens to be a MN attorney did take KC to court he fails to mention he lost. Not only in conciliation court, he also appealed it to District Court too and AGAIN lost there! Both times MN courts sided with Kohner Construction and in fact placed a judgment against Joe for money he owed us! So his above quotes are clearly fabricated. Yes, Joe was asked after the job started to pay additional money for all new drywall in his kitchen which was required after finding damage inside his walls we couldn’t have known about prior. Joe agreed to the pay for the additional work, we completed it, then he refused to pay. The judge found the electrician to have been fully licensed at the time Joe hired and contracted with him, and found no fault of KC regarding any wiring. We are simply dealing with a difficult homeowner/attorney who’s ego was bruised losing in MN courts not only once but twice and he cannot let it go. He has harassed us with negative reviews and comments to the point other sites have banned him and he may be facing reprocussion from the MN Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys. It is unfortunate there are people out there who cannot accept losing and will go to great lengths 2 years later. Kohner Construction is happy to provide any client a copy of photos or this court order to support our comments above. Please see our other reviews as they are more reflective of the work we do.

I was not having luck getting anyone to return my calls regarding having some work done on my home so found Thumbtack on the Internet and contacted them even though I was hesitant. Within 5 minutes I received a call from Hannah's Haven, they came out the next day to discuss the work I needed and within 24 hours I had my bid. A week later they did the work and here's the best part: the work was done exactly to my standards, the crew was so professional and they followed up to make certain I was satisfied with everything. Can't say enough positive things about Tim and Char. They showed up on time for the estimate process, gave us several options on how to accomplish our job, didn't hesitate in the least when we chose the least expense/simplest solution, provided excellent communication throughout, and performed exactly as promised and completed the job faster than expected. The experience was so positive, we already have Hannah's Haven looking into two other projects we've had on our minds but have hesitated to pursue because of a lack of trust/connection with other providers. We highly recommend them.

We are very competitive with our pricing and will bid jobs based on the amount of labor, materials and how long it will take. We will not increase our pricing based on the area you live in as many will do.
