FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I believe my efforts are worth approximately $25 to 30 per hour, (depending on the job) plus my tools and equipment. I am able to purchase materials and supplies at a discount many times. I only add a small carrying cost to these charges.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet the customer, provide a free estimate of the work they inquired about, make suggestions regarding their request, provide written estimate for more complex work or handshake agreements with simple tasked projects. I also like to share with them my abilities and talk about other work that they may want, that I may be able to help them with.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in Industrial Technology, a hands on degree that involves design, materials, leadership and business. I have 30 years as a project manager of construction related services and a manufacturing manager of construction products. I have taught Construction to high school students. I owned a lawncare business for 7 years, providing many other services for my customers during the off-season. I retired with 33 years in the US Coast Guard and CG Reserves. I was a Chief Machinery Tech, but also did lots of law enforcement.
