I had the pleasure of working with Sheff Dizzle on my latest movie soundtrack composition. Sheff said the song reminded him of the sounds of a battlefield. So, "The Patriot" became instead, "The Battlefield." Thank you, Sheff! Sheff did an outstanding job of mixing this complex tune, and then it went to his workmate, Master Engineer and Grammy Judge, Mr, Earle Holder, for mastering. I have had the honor of working with Earle many times before, and as always, his mastering job was as awesome and impeccable as ever. As a result of the creative efforts of Sheff and Earle, the very first film producer that heard the song was bowled over. "The Battlefield" was chosen to be in his upcoming movie, "The Pro." For me, this makes the 6th song of mine, chosen to be in a film, that was mixed/mastered at HDQTRZ. I would never use anyone else. If you are not using these masters of their craft, and the excellent facility they call home, you are definitely not allowing your songs to reach their full potential. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Analog Mastering stars at $75.00 per song. Mixing rates vary based on genre and number of tracks but start at these prices listed. Rap Including Vocals and full production$250 Mix tape record including vocals with a stereo mix instrumental $150 Rnb and Gospel Start at $375 including vocal tuning and full production. Live instrumentation and vocals start at $375.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Files must be tracked out from the same start point as 24-bit WAV files (.wav). Please remember to use your stereo rough mix that youve been listening to as a reference. You can upload all files in a labeled compressed folder via wetransfer . Pro Tools users: Please eliminate all unused region files from your regions bin and create a session copy by going to Save Copy In under `File and check all corresponding folders for your mix, followed by a location to save the new copy. You can then compress this folder and send it to my studio via wetransfer. For mastering simply upload a quality sterep mix in wave format.
