Some quick notes to be mentioned based on past experiences with characters:
- Yes, rentals come with rental agreements. There has to be some legal binding document when you transfer equipment from one person to the other. When you rent a car, you expect a rental agreement, right? Every legitimate company should provide one to you, and explain what it contains.
- Costumed mascot characters are for entertainment purposes only. Most mascot costumes do not have 5 fingers, and most have 2 or even 4. With that limitation, there is only so much that the mascot can do. Most mascots do exactly what mascots do at sporting events and other events, they dance and entertain the crowd. They can't play many games, and most are designed to dance, photo ops, cut cake and provide animation for the crowd.
- The worst thing to do is tell your child that the actual character is coming to the event. Most children are afraid of the mascots, and it takes them at least 15-20 minutes to warm up to the mascot. Please take this into consideration when making your booking. Clowns and princesses have more success with engaging the children than mascots, as the costume limits the movement and sight of the character.
- All of our mascots come with a musical playlist to play to keep the children entertained, and also a speaker to play the music through. Please, if you plan on playing your own music, let it be known in advance so the mascot is able to adjust their dancing games to fit the theme of music selected. The music we provide coincides with the actual mascot.
- If you plan on providing your own speakers for the event, please ensure that they are functioning properly and working BEFORE the character arrives. When the character is on site is not the time to discover that your stereo system does not work. Also, it is very hard to hear the mascot sometimes through the costumes, as most of them are made with foam. The mascot will sometimes have an assistant to relay any messages, since most of the time, they can't be heard.
