FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It really depends on the job. For larger jobs I like to look at the space, talk to my client and give a quote. Smaller jobs, I charge $60 an hour plus materials.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I like to touch base with my customers by phone and arrange a time to meet. It is better for both of us if I can actually see the proposed work, in person. This way there is less chance of miscommunication and I can provide the most accurate bid.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working with my hands and tools since I was a kid. My grandfather was a hard working, "do-it-yourself" kind of guy who instilled in me a very strong work ethic. Since I was a teenager, I have done all kinds of construction and remodeling work - mostly in California where the building codes are very strict. I am currently preparing to take the Contractor's licensing exam here in North Carolina.
