I'm an adult student and amateur musician who has studied with several piano teachers in Boulder County since 1997, after a long hiatus from childhood lessons. Jessica and I have been working together for less than a year, but she shared new perspectives and insights with me from the very beginning. She is helping me play more musically, with a keen attention to the composer's intentions and markings. We collaborate on repertoire selection, and I've found that her suggestions have been challenging and interesting without being overwhelming and frustratingly difficult. My objectives at this stage in my life are to find joy in the exploration of something new and beautiful, and a sense of accomplishment when I can achieve a modicum of improvement. In other words, we are focusing on process, not necessarily product, as I have no aspirations to being a prodigy or professional musician. That said, I have heard some of Jessica's younger students play, and Jessica is definitely capable of helping them become professional and accomplished musicians. Jessica is able to offer constructive criticism without the recipient feeling discouraged, and she is able to break down the challenging issue into manageable pieces or steps. During our lessons, I feel I have her full attention. She is a weekly inspiration, and I leave our lessons eager to practice. I definitely recommend her as a piano teacher.

Jessica was my son's piano teacher for one year. She was a fantastic teacher, really dedicated and helpful. My son likes piano, but is an active boy. Jessica recognized this and figured out a way to engage him through stimulating pieces and exercises. He learned a lot during his year with her and enjoyed performing new pieces. We were all sad when she had to move.

Dr. Pacheco (Miss Jessica) was my son's first piano teacher when she was a PhD student at University of Georgia. She was patient, understanding, and inspirational. She customized lessons for my son and he enjoyed being with Miss Jessica for private lessons, group lessons, and music camps. Miss Jessica was also a very caring teacher. Before she left last summer, she made sure that we found a good piano teacher. When she came back to Athens for commencement last December, my son made a carnation garland for her and had another piano lesson with her. We miss her.
