FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I want clients to have a clear understanding of how much something is going to cost, before we commit to work together. I will offer flat rates for many types of document preparation or transactional matters. For litigation and larger projects, I will generally try to provide a budget range, with room for different contingencies. I will do some commercial matters on a contingent fee basis (or a blend of hourly and contingent fees), if it makes sense under the circumstances. Please feel free to contact me to ask about rates and pricing for your matter.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will typically consult with potential clients by phone (for no charge), to determine what they need and whether I can help. If there are documents to review and more complicated matters to discuss, we can schedule a consultation (for a fee) in my office. We will then agree on a plan and a budget for any further representation, as needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from the UW School of Law in 1993, and have been practicing in the Seattle area ever since.
