FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every case is unique so it is hard to keep a standard pricing system in this business. I generally have a price range that I quote for different types of crimes but honestly that is just a starting place before the variables move it up or down. I know what I'm doing so usually after talking it through with the client we can come to a fair price for both sides. If I am not the lawyer for you because of price or whatever reason I would be happy to refer some lawyers that I think might work for you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The client or their family usually initiate the communication with me or my office. If the defendant is not in jail I usually meet with him or her in person to discuss their case and establish a rapport to see if we are comfortable with each other. Then we usually talk prices: which includes a retainer (money down) and if needed a payment plan for the balance. From there I get started on your case right away.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My field requires that I take 15 hours of Continuing Legal Education every year. I routinely participate in considerably more hours in order to keep up with the ever changing landscape of the law and the courts.
