I am like many other people out there who want to lose weight but are full of excuses. I kept seeing Facebook ads about Maryville Boxing Gym, but I didn't want to go by myself and couldn't convince any of my friends to go with me -everything is always easier with the buddy system right? After 3 months of putting it off, I swallowed my pride and walked through the doors... by myself. I was not in shape, I couldn't do more than 10 sit-ups without breaking a sweat, I couldn't do a push up to save my life... but I walked through the door. From that day on the only regret that I had was not starting 3 months sooner. At no point have I ever felt embarrassed because I couldn't do something like the more experienced members. Or felt like people were looking at me because I am doing a hit wrong. Everyone is there to encourage one another and have fun doing it! We are all truly a big family :) I will never forget one of my first weeks at the end of class some of the "regulars" were going to run a lap after class. I knew that I would not be able to run the full lap, nor would I be able to keep up with the group... but I decided to run too. As I started the lap one of the regulars slowed down her pace to run with me... the entire lap... encouraging me the entire time and sure enough I ran that entire lap!

From the very first day that I went to Maryville Boxing I was welcomed with open arms. A year and a half later, and after shedding many pounds and inches, it was the best decision I ever made to make it my number one gym. Unlike other gyms, at Maryville Boxing we are a more than gym partners, we are a family! The positive vibes, the encouragement, the awesome workouts, and the individual training make this gym stand out from all the others. There is no feeling left out, no judging, no discrimination; we are there for the same thing and we all want to see success stories on the wall! One thing I regret is not starting sooner! I've gained so much knowledge about diet and exercise from the owners/staff, who are always happy to help and are always encouraging!

MBC isn't just a gym, it's a family. When I found MBC I found a gym that I could finally be comfortable in. It doesn't matter your size, shape, ability or age, there is a spot for you here. For once in my life I actually look forward to going to the gym! This is a HUGE deal for me! The trainers are incredibly knowledgable and do everything in their power to help you reach your goals and motivate you. They really do go above and beyond to help everybody. Another amazing part of this gym is the fact that none of the classes are the same. Not knowing what to expect at the next class is a big motivational factor for me. It makes the classes fun and that hour is over in the blink of an eye. There are several different types of classes: Cardio Boxing, Ladies Night, FitRanx and Booty Camp. I wish I could pick a favorite, but it's pretty much impossible. I love these classes so much I try to go every single day and sometimes I even double up. This is coming from someone who hasn't been to the gym in years! I joined MBC to get active and in a few short weeks I lost over 6 inches of body fat. I can see and feel my muscles getting stronger and there is no better feeling than that. When I joined MBC I expected to lose some weight, but I didn't expect to have this much fun doing it. Joining has been one of the best decisions of my life.

Been doing personal training twice a week for over 3 years now and I love it! Great way to set goals and challenges and meet them head on with the support of workout partners, other members of the gym, and the training staff there!
