FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing structure is based on what a client wants from me (just working out vs. working out, getting nutritional advice, and other support services), but also how far I have to travel to get to them. If I travel farther it is more expensive and some clients lose track of that. I always ask clients to remember that if I travel 20 mins to you, I have to travel 20 mins back and including the hour session I am basically giving you two hours of my time and need to charge to reflect that.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I do with a client is a comprehensive fitness assessment. I look at posture, flexibility, strength, and endurance. This let's me know what the client needs to work on. I combine that with a 20 minute interview of the client to establish their knowledge, eating habits, and goals. I then design a program template for them based on the assessment.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do 20+ hours a year as a physical therapist of continuing education. It is mandatory by the state of CT. As a personal trainer I am not required to do this, but I am always doing research and reading up on new training techniques to keep my skills sharp.
