Introduction: As a personal trainer, I have a passion for fitness, healthy living, nutrition, and education. I believe that, without professional guidance, many people lack the knowledge to make choices to improve their lifestyles and are afraid of all the conflicting information their research provides them. I understand the importance of reaching clients where they are at, understanding the fears and weaknesses that hinder their progress, and aiding them in overcoming these obstacles in order to restore and inspire self-efficacy. Clients want a trainer they can trust. Someone who understands them and is dedicated to and invested in helping them achieve their goals. I am that trainer! My goals and beliefs about fitness are best summarized by Socrates, "No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable." So many people are complacent with both their bodies and their lives; too often they fail to realize that there is so much more if only they would have the courage to take the initiative in their own lives. While the physical side of personal training initially grabbed my attention, the nutrition side quickly became a crucial element to my fitness philosophy. I am a firm believer that nutrition is 75% of any program geared towards weight loss. But when it comes to being fit and healthy, there is a lot more to it than just losing weight and easing pain. Lowering blood pressure, resting heart rate, and removing toxins from one's diet all play important roles in one's heath. Unfortunately, these factors are often overlooked by many traditional trainers. Any health and fitness goals you have can be achieved, and I'll help you get there!

Taryn is an amazing personal trainer. She pays attention to each person and their needs. The workouts are creative and effective. Taryn is a one of a kind trainer! I felt the best I ever have when I was training with her! She is so knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and motivating!!!!! Made getting up and going to the gym easy. Not to mention the team aspect! Such an amazing experience. Highly recommended!!!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I like to start with an initial consult, either at a coffee shop or in my gym, to get to know each other and find out your goals and what kind of plan you would like to achieve them. From there we'll go through a short workout, I'll develop the plan and we'll work together to set short maintainable and achieve steps to the energy, health, and body you want!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    NCSF - (National Council on Strength and Fitness) Certified Personal Trainer Studied Exercise Science at Winona State University

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

    I train clients from collegiate athletes to clients looking for weight loss, weight gain, toning/building, strength/endurance, and injury recovery. I also train post-physical therapy patients, clients with MS, and Parkinson's to developed strength, balance.
