FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started shooting in high school using a all manual Fuji film camera passed down from my parents. (ALL-manual-film will certainly provide a LOT of training! There was even a light leak in the back that I had to cover with tape! Ha!) I upgraded equipment and started taking paid shoots in college. I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A. in Media and Performing Arts. Even though I was not an official photography student in college, I LOVE that I am able to talk to a direct clients more easily because of that valuable education. I also love carrying the art of story-telling into my work. After college, I was extensively trained for my work at a portrait studio, where I ended up quickly advancing to management after only a year and a half. I LOVE the freedom and challenges of owning my own business! I am CONSTANTLY learning and striving to improve. It is my goal to be a better photographer with each passing day and I eagerly look forward to my next session!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I am pretty diverse. I love family photo sessions and kid's yearly photos. Weddings, seniors, birth sessions and newborn photography are other favorites of mine. I even enjoy business headshots, and commercial photography too! I love to be challenged in my work!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Reviews! Review their work, get a referral, and talk to them about yourself and your preferences. Don't be afraid to let go and relax during your session. Try to forget about blemishes or which side of your face you like the best and be in that moment with your family / friends. (Besides a good photographer will fix the blemishes and have the skills to take the most flattering shots.)
