FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing can vary by project since no two projects are alike. I am comfortable working both on a fixed fee or at an hourly rate depending on the scope of work and how well defined it is.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically our first meeting would be in person and most of the time it will be at the project site. At this meeting we can get to know each other and I can learn more about what you are looking for and we can discuss costs, timeline, concerns, etc. After our initial meeting I will prepare an proposal to move forward with services based on our discussion.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my Masters degree in Architecture at Montana State University and participated in several design-build projects while there which began my love of working not only on the design side of things but also being involved in the hands on aspect of building. After graduation I moved to Seattle where i went on to spend several years working as a carpenter for a design build firm on high end residential projects and also as a furniture maker for Evert Sodergren. Feeling like I should be putting my architectural education to work in a more traditional setting, I later worked at several well known architecture firms in Portland and Seattle designing and managing a variety of projects including single family homes, mixed used buildings, car dealerships, and low income housing. For me design and construction/ making are completely interconnected in my way of thinking so when I decided to start my own firm, I wanted to both design and make. I try and keep a balance of work between fabrication and architecture and I enjoy working closely with my clients to develop unique solutions to fit their needs.
