We were getting ready to sell our house and needed some exterior painting done to spiff up the place. Because we were not planning on selling this year we had a shoestring budget. I found Washington Painting on Craigslist so I went to Yelp to check his feedback. Satisfied, I sent him an email with the scope of work. Despite our job being pretty small, Darren was extremely responsive and very reasonably priced. His work was excellent as well. Of the four painters we called, Darren was by far the most professional. He came in person to look at we we needed and was the only one who showed up on time and gave us a written bid. One painter made an appointment and never even showed up! He blew the competition out of the water! He has integrity too. He ended up needing more paint than he thought due to the old exposed wood soaking up the paint and he was going to eat the extra costs. We ended up meeting him halfway. He's very honest and we really appreciated that. Washingon Painting will be our go-to painting professional in the future. Thank you, Darren!

Darren Washington has been our ONLY painter for our home, apartment building and rental homes. He is an honest, fair, excellent painter. He does what he says he is going to do. That is why we haven't used another painter for at least 15 years!

Darren has done several jobs for us over the years. Painted our entire house inside and out about 8 years ago. Painted our rental house 4 years ago. We just had him in to paint our kitchen and living room again after a remodel. We have also called him in to freshin up traffic areas and baseboards a few times over the years. Almost forgot he painted cabinets in our bathrooms. Needless to say we are happy customers and glad to share.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For interior walls 8' tall x up to 12' wide I charge $ 60.00 a wall including premium paint caulking , spackle etc. For a 2nd coat I only charge another half. I charge $50.00 a door both sides including door casing with light prep. For a 2nd coat I only charge another half.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I start with discussing color & sheen they would like to use. I always provide my customers with free color brochures to give them potential choices. I discuss possible start dates of project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started in the union in San Francisco in 1985 & have been painting ever since (30+years).
