FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually try to price my services on a hourly basis if scope is difficult to determine or on a project basis if the scope is pretty well defined. That way there are no surprises, and I can help clients manage both their expectations and stay within budget on projects.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I work better if I feel like I can answer questions regarding the client's objectives. Those can be timing, style, editorial concerns, creative approach, collaborative process...; basically, they can take any of several shapes or directions. Understanding the 'How' is as important to me as the 'Who' or 'What'.
