FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Certain jobs can be bid on a standard basis. For example, I know how much time it takes me to paint a standard 6 panel door. However, every painting project is different, so I like to get a look at the job. Many times I can suggest a way to save some time and money without sacrificing the quality of the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I prefer to do an onsite estimate. You and I both should clearly understand what you expect upon completion of your project. I want to be clear about what is involved to get it done. Upon completion we should both be well satisfied that the project was done right at a fair price.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I owned and operated a "mom and pop" hardware store for many years, which gave me a broad knowledge of homeowners needs and projects. I did many in store services and occasionally did onsite projects. Then, I worked at a paint store for awhile and eventually gravitated toward residential painting work. I apprenticed nearly a year with a very good detail-oriented painter. I learned many of the subtle differences that separate a DIY paint job from a professional-looking job.
