- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always make sure they have professional equipment that can handle all types of lighting situations. Also make sure they have experience!!! Lots of experience!! Just because someone takes good images of something, doesn't mean they are going to be good at wedding photography. There are a lot of little intimate details that need to be captured that most people don't even think of that can be important to the portfolio of a wedding day. Wedding photography also takes a lot of organization and you need to be a people person. You need to be able to direct small and large groups of people while under a time limit. Ask how many years and/or how many of your event they have photographed. Make sure they store your images in a secure location like a website that offers image storage and your images will always be there. DVDs, memory cards, and flash can be ruined in the event of a fire. Get references!! Ask to see their previous work!! They should have lots of prints for you to view!! Ask to see the items that you will receive in your package.
