Excellent job. Awesome price. 100 dollars cheaper than next quote. Cleaned more sections of gutters than required. I would most definitely use Breeden Roofing again. Give him a chance.

The owner was very timely and efficient on the getting me an estimate and getting my roof replaced. We scheduled a day and time and his workers were on time and he came by to oversee the project. They were very clean and made sure that they did not leave any nails behind in the yard and drive way. They came back the next day and doubled checked property for any nails that they might have missed. As far as the service and the job worked, it was excellent. They did a great job on my roof and it looks wonderful. I would recommend 2nd2None Roofing & Construction to others. The owner is very friendly and respectful.

Very satisfied with the work that was performed. This was for solving roof-leak problems, so I will not know until we get some really heavy rains, but I have confidence in solution provided. I highly recommend Mr. Jarvis to take care of your roofing problems. He also apprised me of the condition of the roof in general and of potential problems; re: minor hail damage, non-functioning power roof ventilator, and deficient original construction problems.

I was hesitant to use a service like Thumbtack for such a major job, but couldn't be happier with the results. Tom, Bentley, and their crew were responsive, professional, competent, and efficient. Tom was very patient while my wife and I pestered him for additional shingle samples before making our decision. He was also proactive in working with my insurance company to ensure his already competitive quote resulted in minimal out-of-pocket expense to me. Best of all, my new roof is tight as a drum and looks fantastic. The job was done in a day and a half, and the crew left hardly any evidence they'd been there; I've yet to find a single nail in my yard. I'd wholeheartedly recommend BP Construction for any residential roofing job.

The house I live in is amazing yet needs just a few things renewed to make it that much more amazing. Roof Ian leaking all around the house. Roof isn't in good shape and there is no working gutter system which is probably some of the issue plus there is a tree that is on top of the roof and I told that tree was going to Ben cut down, yet, it is there there. I plan to put new windows in this house (with help of owner) seeing as how we have spoken about me buying it. Also the amount of rain leakage in the garage area is leading me to believe that is what has caused the electrical issue in the kitchen that also needs fixed! Y'all are doing a great job Golden Real-estate! Keep on keeping on and happy holidays!

Mike and his team did a great job on my roof. It was an old roof and had a bit of wear and tear over the years. Mike was honest about what it needed and how to go about it. Nothing was hidden. Would definitely recommend if roof work is needed!

Sam Howard and his crew at Pro Building Solutions remodeled our whole house for us. We had a projected time frame of 3 weeks (for only the bathroom remodel), added in a lot of custom details in the middle of the job, including taking out a wall, doing a custom beadboard wainscoting in the bathroom, changing out all of the outlets/switches in the entire house, and replacing all of the interior doors/hardware and somehow still ended up with only 3 weeks and 3 days in total for our job! We were more than satisfied with their performance! Every time we added something to the job, he would give us an estimation of how much time we were adding to the total of the job. In the end, they far exceeded our time frame in which we were expecting. There were quite a few different guys coming in and out of the house, but all of them were courteous, professional, and took the time to listen to our needs. Sam helped greatly with the design side. From start to finish he really made it an easy process in choosing which products to use based on our budget that we had presented him from the beginning of the job. We selected a few upgrades that put us over our budget, after all, you're only going to remodel once! However, we were able to save on some other materials that Sam had recommended during the process with his contractor prices. He also handled all of the delivery of our materials and never once charged us for the many hours of consultations he provided throughout the construction process. Here is the scope of work in which they performed for our house: Patched all of the sheet rock walls for paint. Removed a wall going into the living area opening up the living room to the hallway. Laid laminate flooring in the hallway. Changed out all of the doors and their respective hardware in the house. Changed out all of the outlets and switches from the old almond color to an updated white color. Changed the light in the guest bedroom to a ceiling fan with light. Replaced the rotten subfloor in the bathroom. Raised the vanity in the bathroom and refinished it. Removed the old tile wainscoting from the 60's and installed an updated wooden beadboard wainscot. Installed all accessories, mirror, and miscellaneous items I requested (at no additional cost!) Installed a GORGEOUS curbless tile shower up to handicap code for my elderly father who could not walk anymore (had to roll him in and out with a wheelchair). Changed out the 50 year old toilet to a new and updated toilet. Tiled the floor. And last but certainly not least, painted the whole house (1,400 square feet). By the end of the job, I felt like my whole house had undergone a face-lift! I absolutely hate the construction process (tearing my house apart) but all in all, Pro Building Solutions helped to make my project as easy and pain free as possible. They kept the job site clean every day, made sure I could park my car in the garage, and were always there to help me, even if it was to carry a few bags of groceries into my house on their lunch break. Overall, I would highly recommend Sam and Pro Building Solutions to anyone looking for a quality remodel and an affordable price! They went the extra mile for me and always communicated every step of the way. Any issues were addressed swiftly and as cost effectively as possible. Pro Building Solutions is the only company I will let work on my house!

I had a bunch of random tasks for Daryl to help with as we prepared to move into our home. He was responsive and clear on expectations, and took care of all we needed, from replacing a door frame to re-grouting some loose kitchen tiles.

Zee was great to work with when I got a new roof last fall. He diagnosed and repaired a leak in my old roof very quickly. It turned out there was more damage than just that leak, and Zee worked with my insurance company to get a replacement roof. He walked me through the entire process and came back when the work was done to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Highly recommended.

We even had to have a gable added to our roof and they brought a construction crew in to take care of that. A+ from start to finish. I'm a professional woman with little time to spare for domestic emergencies. When my roof sprung a leak over the master bedroom, I needed it fixed immediately and I needed not to ransom my soul to afford the repairs. Some friends had worked with Jim in the past and recommended him without reservation and now, having worked with him, I'll gladly do the same. Jim was cordial when we spoke and maneuvered his schedule to accommodate mine. He arrived on time, examined the damage and explained it graciously to someone who can't tell the difference between a shingle and a shim. He gave me an reasonable estimate for the work and its time for completion. He handled his business with the excellence one expects of a craftsman. What's more impressive is that he gave me peace of mind in a set of circumstances rife with cautionary tales. If you're having roofing problems, Jim Perkerson is the guy with your solutions.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
