FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common job is closet consulting. This is just such a great place to start because I am able to become familiar with a client's current style, the items they already own, their price range, their likes and dislikes, etc. Some clients book closet consulting on a seasonal basis and some book every time they make new purchases so that I can put together new outfits for them and take pictures to add to their look books so that they can remember what I have done! The 2nd most common is Personal Shopping. Some clients prefer that I meet them at the stores of their choice and they shop alongside me. Other clients prefer I pick-up items for them and bring them to their home. Each service can be tailored to the client's preferences and schedules. The 3rd most common is outfit coordination for photo shoots such as family photos, engagement photos, or advertising headshots.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I urge clients to have a consultation with a stylist before they begin booking an appointment. I always insist on this with my potential clients. This can either be by phone or by appointment at my boutique. Wardrobe consulting is such a personal investment that it is very important that clients feel like their personalities will work well with mine, enjoy being around me, and feel comfortable taking my advice and working one on one with me. Also, don't be shy about asking questions regarding how long the stylist thinks your new wardrobe will take. And budget is always important, don't hesitate to discuss the monetary commitment you are potentially making. You are in a sense "making a purchase" and you need to feel very confident about your choice because this person will be helping design what friends, colleagues, family members, etc. will be seeing of you on the outside!
