FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Most legal services are not amenable to menu pricing. Some services Matthew has found to be amenable follow: Commercial lease preparation - $600, which includes drafting and up to two revisions. Establishing a business entity that has no regulatory concerns - $750 which includes creating the entity, preparing the governance documents, and obtaining an EIN. Civil litigation (hourly) - $2,500 deposit billed hourly at $200 per hour Civil litigation (contingent) - 1/3 if paid in full prior to entry of judgment; 40% if collection efforts are required. Costs of litigation are due in advance. Estate plans are not amenable to menu pricing because the needs of the estate can vary wildly.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, a prospective client is asked for basic information about their matter to make most efficient use of the intake meeting. Following the basic information, a 30-minute intake meeting is scheduled for a more "deep-dive" approach. If there is a match, an attorney-client relationship is formed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over and above the minimum qualifications to become an attorney, Matthew Kezhaya is the member of the Arkansas Trial Lawyer's Association, the Arkansas Bar Association, the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Benton and Washington Bar Associations, and the W. B. Putmann Inn of Court. These organizations all provide training on legal services. Matthew is particularly active through the Arkansas Bar Association, chairing the Civil Litigation section and serving an active role on the Jurisprudence and Law Reform Committee.
