FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No standard pricing system. I do everything from the inside to the outside of the house, from indoor plants and shampooing carpets to starting an herb garden, pruning your hedges, and preparing your pool for any season. So really it depends on the job itself, how often it will require me to work at your location, if the job is a repeated job, how much work is to be done, the conditions we will be working in (weather doesn't stop us, but may slow us down,) if the customer has their own tools and or fertilizer, mulch, chemicals for indoor jobs, etc. Some jobs however do have a normal pricing. If it is a simple by the hour type of job then we usually charge $60 a day or $12 an hour. If the job is small and only takes 1 person then the going rate is usually $40 for 4 hours of work or in other words $10 per hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first travel to the home or office and check out exactly what it is that the customer is expecting of me and then I evaluate how much it would cost, how long I estimate the job to take, and if I honestly believe someone else would be better for the job.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied horticulture at the University of Arkansas for 4 years where I learned everything about the soil, air, water, germination, propagation, nomenclature, implementing landscapes and gardens for schools and the community, and customer service practices. I have worked at the Yvonne Richardson center, Leverett Elementary, Seven Hills shelter, The Adult Education Center, Several Private homes, and the University of Arkansas Campus creating beautiful gardens at each of them and spending time teaching the inhabitants about gardening and creating a sustainable garden to feed them year round (very cool stuff, especially with the elementary kids.)
