FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our lifestyle family portrait session is $200 and includes 45–60 minutes of shooting time at ‘Golden Hour’ — close to sunset (or sunrise if you’re up for it). Our wedding photography packages begin at $800 (includes a complimentary engagement session). Prints are purchased at an in-person image reveal session separately from the portrait session or wedding.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1) Schedule a 10-15 minute complimentary phone consultation to determine your needs, discuss scheduling of portrait session date(s) and possible location(s), and discuss fine art print and custom wall art pricing. For weddings, we will need more time — we want to hear all about your big day! Let’s meet over coffee and get started… We’ll help you build a timeline that will work for you, your guests and still allow plenty of time for photography! 2) Portrait session — designed to capture your family naturally in a relaxed 45–60 minute shoot resulting in lifestyle images allowing you to re-live the unique blend of feelings and moments that define this chapter of your life. Wedding Day — determined by the package selected and decisions made at the consultation. All weddings will include a complimentary engagement session (similar to a family portrait session). This helps us get to know you better and helps you better understand our shooting style. 3) In-Person Image Reveal — Images are purchased separately from your session fee. Instead of dumping a USB thumb drive, CD/DVD or even an online gallery full of digital images on you to go through unassisted — we personally reveal the best images from your session or event. We help you select what sizes and types of prints and other fine art options would look best on your walls. We can reveal the images in the privacy of your home, our home, or even in a coffee shop. This is all part of our personalized and professional service.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a self-taught natural light photographer. I have been shooting digital since 2000 and just started shooting medium format film last year. Most of my training comes from teaching myself how to use a camera and having a natural artistic talent for capturing candid moments. However, I have completed hundreds of hours of online educational training and in-person photography workshops on exposure, lighting, posing, depth of field, portrait photography, shooting weddings and working with children.
