What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Absolutely! I take part in workshops and online classes, as well as keep up with the latest developments in both gear and technique.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved weddings, but I never thought I was a creative person. I'm awful at crafts! I can't arrange flowers very well or put glitter on invitations. I happened to go to a wedding with a photographer friend one day and we arrived early. I was handed a camera and told to have fun and I fell in love. I never believed that I had a talent until that day, but I know now that this is my gift.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure that whoever you hire has experience with lighting in dark situations such as ballrooms and evening receptions. I've taken many classes to ensure that I have the skills to light in any situation. A photographer should treat every shot like it is the only one they will get!
