Several factors to consider before hiring Dustin. First, he is a plumber by trade, not a painter nor dry wall guy. Second, even though his response time is quick his work is sloppy. Third, when he knows he has an obligation of coming back to redo work he disappears like ghost and doesn’t follow through. I appreciate him for taking the job but I don’t like the fact that we’ve been treated like fools. The work was incomplete and we paid him the full amount like fools. We hired Dustin to sand and paint 3 doors after searching for a while and getting false responses on thumbtack. When he was done my husband and I pointed the defective work and he told us that he will come back to redo them. After he left, a couple of days passed and I contacted him telling him that the paint he used was not the same as the other doors and asked him when he was going to come back to redo them. Also, that the doors he installed won’t close properly and they weren’t sanded before painting. Further, several holes on the door frame weren’t covered with putty and painted over. He told me that he will contact me when he comes out my way but it’s been a solid 3 weeks and no response from him. It’s one thing to offer service it’s another to perform sloppy service and then run away from your responsibilities. At first he was quick to respond to get the job and was moderately priced, but his work is sloppy! We now have to hire someone else for the same amount that we paid Dustin in order to clean up his work.
