FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My lessons are simply $20 per half hour. If you prefer a one hour lesson, it's $40. Because I don't teach at a store I'm able to charge $5-10 less per lesson. Stores charge the teachers a room fee. I don not have this. I also provide everything you need regarding materials at no charge. This includes lesson material, charts, audio recordings, video recording etc...
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I invite the student and the parent over for an evaluation. There, they get to meet me, see my home, my studio and also meet my family. I explain how I work, with the purpose of setting specific mutual expectations. I also question and evaluate the student and use the fact finding session to develop a long-term lesson plan using short term goals, long term goals focusing on the students desires.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Knapp School of Music and studied with Skip Layton, I also studied with several private drummers/teachers when I was younger. I'm always self-studying currently via many sources.
