I do not have enough space here to say all I'd like to say. My time with Dr. Cable was the most productive time I've ever spent with a doctor of this nature. What I found most amazing was how Dr. Cable "listened and retained" what I had to say. It was obvious he truly cared, understood, and did everything in his knowledge and power to help me. Just being "heard" was worth a million bucks. His pricing is extremely low, and the follow up CD was a free perk. Try him, you won't be sorry. I can't wait to visit AZ again so I can spend more time with Dr. Cable. A very genuine, kind human being from his soul outward.

I was referred to Timothy Faiman by my Naturopathic physician. It was an excellent choice. I was impressed with Tim's knowledge and treatment. I'll be going back, as will my wife.

Working with Gage has truly been an experience I've treasured. Physically I've taken my body to levels I've never been before. My strength has increased dramatically, my form has drastically improved, I've received the greatest massage of my life, and my body movements are far more structurally optimal. Movements that used to cause me pain are now regular pain-free parts of my workouts. Gage is the most knowledgeable person I've ever met in the realm of human anatomy and exercise performance. The man truly knows his stuff and passionately gives everything he has to his clients. The cherry on top is that working with Gage isn't only a physical experience, but a mental one as well. Gage is an extremely deep and gifted individual who can easily change your life in a multitude of ways. His coaching is transformational to say the least, and a gift that you owe to yourself as soon as possible. You'll be happy you did! Jamil Sayegh: 3rd year Naturopathic Medical Student

i cannot recommend kaweah's healing work highly enough. not only is it quickly and powerfully effective, she is the kindest, warmest person; she instantly puts you at ease. i am severely allergic to poison ivy, which became a systemic infection; i battled it for three weeks and found myself getting sicker and sicker. nothing really worked, and i tried both conventional (steroids, antibiotics, antihistamines) and non-conventional (reiki, naturopath, supplements designed to pull it out of my blood stream) approaches. i was seriously afraid of ending up in the hospital, which is no place to be if you're sick! i reached out to kaweah, who did some astoundingly powerful long distance healing work with me, and from the moment her work began, i began to heal! instead of ending up in the hospital after a 3 week losing battle, four days after my session with kaweah i was strong and healthy and back to normal again. do yourself a favor and make your appointment asap. you will be thrilled with the results.

Adrian Marnell was outstanding with my pet. My dog Hemmie could barely walk. Hemmie 's doctor said he needed surgery. Hemmie could not get in or out the car without yelping. Sens treatment Hemmie is a new dog. No limp, no back pain! Adrian worked miracles on my dog with every trip. Thank you sooo very much for helping us get better.

I moved to this area from the East Coast and was really surprised by the number of ineffective chiropractors I found. Dr. Chad is absolutely wonderful!! He practices Applied Kinesiology in addition to chiropractic. He even says in your first session, "if you're looking for just a bone-cracker, I'm not your guy." In fact, I have been to him about 6 times and only had one situation where my "bones were cracked". But I feel better than ever. In addition to this work, he and his wife, Dianne will work with you on nutrition, supplements and lifestyle. They have connections with other medical practitioners in case that is needed. Dr. Chad referred me to Dr. Jacqueline Poulos, a Naturopathic MD for some testing that needed to be completed. She was fantastic as well. I love Dr. Chad and Dianne. If you need a chiropractor, this is the place to go!

I had gone for acupuncture treatments for chronic back and shoulder pain in New York with minimal success. Dr. Rachel has gotten me pain free in a very short period of time with her skilled and caring acupuncture treatments. If you have not experienced acupuncture or had a bad experience, you must treat yourself to one of Dr. Rachel's acupuncture sessions. You are welcomed into the office; your needs and concerns are listened to;your treatment is explained;your comfort is paramount; your result is amazing! I now see Dr. Rachel for any other health issue I have and I am always grateful for her diagnostic prowess and untiring patience and compassion.

Amanda met me where I was, which felt like nowhere. She lifted me up to help me see my strengths and, yes, where I needed improvement. She always did so with grace. We have worked together for about a year, she has been my nutritionist, coach and Yoga gal. My doctor has approved me to get off of two medications and I feel 200% better physically and emotionally. Amanda gave me my life back.

Heather is absolutely amazing and the "real deal" to work with. Heather is extremely knowledgeable in all-things "healthy and natural", most especially in Women's Health and Weight Loss. In a time where so many Doctors are prescribing pills to mask the symptoms, Heather takes the approach of treating the root cause from a holistic approach. You will not be disappointed; I would strongly urge you to contact Heather and do not wait one more day. Whether it be diabetes, high blood pressure, over-weight, hormonal issues, depression, anxiety, ADHD, chronic pain, fatigue or whatever your issue is, there is a natural, holistic remedy at a fraction of the cost of traditional medical healthcare. I cannot say enough great things about Heather and how she has helped me along the way and I absolutely believe she will help you too. ~Kimberly Deming

My entire life I've been very critical over Reiki and it's ability to heal better than modern medicine. As a matter of fact, I felt it was more in the realm of smoke and mirrors and it had no medical value whatsoever. A good friend asked, (no begged me,) to go with her to a Reiki healing because of major issues with my lungs and asthma as well as a abdomen pain that no doctor could figure out what was wrong with me. So I reluctantly agreed to go. My opinion has vastly changed! Martha has done what I thought no one could ever do and that's make me a total believer in her abilities to heal. After a few sessions with her, I have no had one pain in my abdomen and I have cut down to over half the use of my inhaler. It's been over 3months and I am still pain free! As well, I typically used my inhaler 3 to 4 times daily. I now use it maybe once every other day or so!!! I do not give testimonials ever. However, I felt it was my lot to let everyone know of Martha's ability to heal......It has improved my way of life and I am sure you will walk away feeling the same.

I would highly recommend Haley to anyone considering guidance/help for their autoimmune condition. For anyone that has an autoimmune condition, they know it is a ton of up and downs, trials and errors and can leave you feeling overwhelmed and defeated. I first worked with Haley a year ago when I started experiencing symptoms with my Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. I was at my wits end and would have breakdowns because I felt like I had no control over my own body. Haley was able to provide me with recommendations that I could bring to my doctor, a food plan that gave me guidance on foods to eat/avoid, supplements that would help me heal, and how to grow stronger/healthier mentally and physically. Haley’s holistic approach was just what I needed as I was only focusing on my physical body, not my emotions. I am emotionally able to handle this condition so much better because of Haley. I recently had a setback, which is par for the course with Hashimoto’s, and the first person I called was Haley. We had a consultation the other day, discussed an approach and I am excited to work with Haley over the next few months to take my health to a new level.

I chanced to know about Tree of Life Reiki Center under the guidance of Reiki Grandmaster Wanda Eagleton. I took up several energy modalities with the Center and i am very happy with the services and guidance given to me since then. I am now a Reiki Grandmaster, with other energy modalities. I am able to call in and utilise cosmic energy for the benefit of all in the universe, at any time. I am very grateful to my teacher, Wanda Eagleton for the excellent guidance!

I have lost over 30 pounds as effortlessly as spending time every week getting acupuncture. My friends and family can’t believe it. Thank you so much Kristi! Kristi explained to me that Harter Acupuncture weight loss treatments consisted of a minimum of 10 sessions, but that I would more than likely need 20. Not sure if I’m explaining this right here, but I think it resets the metabolism to work better and digest foods more efficiently. Regardless of that, I have lost over 40 inches in my body and almost 35 pounds as of 16 sessions. This is the only appointment I will never cancel or change. I am not as hungry. I feel like my stress is much less and I handle situations better. Not to be too personal, but I used to have a lot of diarrhea. That is completely gone too! Unbelievable! I’ve had that and poor digestion all my life and I’ve been telling doctors forever that there is something wrong with my metabolism, but they kept saying your TSH levels are fine. Well, something was wrong and now it is right. I can’t say enough about these treatments. Kristi is so nice, but she is straight up about telling you like it is. I came in with a list of complaints and she said many could be due to my being overweight. I was expecting to hear “make a list of your food” or “cut your calories to 1200 per day.” Instead, she said the treatments would work with my body so that I would change over time from the inside out and so I have. She did advise me not to eat so many salads and fruits. I was surprised as I thought this was healthy, but she said that warmer foods and cooked vegetables would be better. She was right. I still eat some salads and fruits of course, but the weight loss is continuing! So happy! I can’t wait to see what changes for me in my next four sessions. Thank you again. Pamela S.

My wife and I feel extremely fortunate to be patients of Doctor Alexander de Soler. Dr. de Soler is genuinely interested in the total well being of his patients and has taken the time to dig deep to discover the root causes of our illness. He gets to know his patients and has improved our quality of life. We never feel rushed and he truly listens which is a rare experience these days. He is by far the most sincere and caring doctor we have ever met. I highly recommend Dr. de Soler.

            Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

            What is naturopathic medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is classified as an alternative healing method, but licensed naturopathic doctors share some of the same academic background as conventional medical doctors and can often prescribe some medications. According to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP), naturopathic medicine is holistic care that addresses a wide range of problems including (but not limited to) allergies, chronic pain, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, obesity, respiratory conditions, heart disease, fertility problems, menopause, adrenal fatigue, cancer, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. Naturopathic medicine aims to strengthen and empower the body and its organs to heal itself through low-force interventions. Here are some examples of the type of medical services often provided by naturopathic doctors, as cited by the AANP:

            • Clinical and laboratory diagnostic testing
            • Nutritional medicine
            • Botanical medicine
            • Naturopathic physical medicine (including naturopathic manipulative therapy)
            • Hygiene
            • Counseling
            • Minor surgery
            • Homeopathy
            • Acupuncture
            • Intravenous and injection therapy
            • Naturopathic obstetrics (natural childbirth)

            Can naturopathic doctors prescribe medication?

Licensed naturopathic doctors can prescribe some pharmaceutical medication. Naturopathic doctors complete academic training similar to that of conventional physicians: a bachelor’s degree with a focus on pre-med studies, followed by a four-year residential naturopathic medical program whose first two years have a similar foundation to that of a conventional medical school. After completing their studies, they must pass a post-doctoral exam. Although licensed naturopathic physicians are able to prescribe medication, they usually focus on prevention rather than treatment of symptoms. A naturopathic doctor will offer a holistic approach to your care that encompasses your mental, physical and emotional health. While they will prescribe medication as needed to treat illness, they are also likely to be creating shifts in your lifestyle and nutrition to effect deeper changes in your body’s response to illness.

How long do naturopathic doctors go to school?

Like conventional physicians, naturopathic doctors undergo rigorous academic and clinical training prior to practice. Typically naturopathic doctors go to school for eight years. There are currently 20 states in the U.S. that provide licensing for naturopathic doctors. According to the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, a naturopathic doctor must complete a bachelor’s degree and an accredited four-year residential naturopathic medical program, and pass an extensive postdoctoral board examination, the Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Examinations (NPLEX), in order to receive a license or registration to practice medicine.

The first two years of the residential naturopathic medical program cover many of the same areas of study as conventional medical schools. Naturopathic doctors provide primary patient holistic care. The goal of naturopathic medicine is preventative care and a focus on low force intervention healing methods. This can include natural medicines, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, homeopathy and much more. Naturopathic doctors often work in tandem with conventional medical doctors, as the two practices complement one another.

How do you find a good naturopath?

It’s important not to get misled by the title “naturopath” when searching for a naturopathic doctor. A naturopathic doctor is a licensed professional, while anyone who so desires can call themselves a naturopath. A naturopathic doctor has completed eight years of schooling and is licensed to provide high-quality medical care. When searching for a naturopathic doctor, a good place to start is by researching your state’s licensing and regulatory body for that profession.

Currently, 20 U.S. states license the practice of naturopathic medicine. For those seeking holistic, body-centered healing solutions, a naturopathic doctor can be a good fit. They use natural medicines as well as treatments such as electrotherapy and ayurvedic medicine to encourage the body to heal. Once you have determined a list of naturopathic physicians who are licensed in your state, look for reviews, ask for referrals, and interview the physician in person or by phone to find the right care provider for your health needs.

            Do naturopaths take insurance?

Many naturopathic doctors accept insurance, but a separate question is whether your insurance covers alternative and naturopathic services. There are several steps you can take to find out:

            • Verify whether you live in one of the 20 states that currently licenses naturopathic physicians:
              • Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Washington.
            • Confirm whether your insurance will cover naturopathic medical services. Read your insurance plan’s fine print, verify whether naturopathic doctors fall into your insurance carrier’s definition of a doctor, and confirm that the care you are receiving is considered medically necessary. Questions to ask your insurance provider could include:
              • Am I covered for this treatment by a naturopathic physician?
              • Do I need a referral?
              • Is there a list of approved naturopathic doctors in my network?
              • What will the co-pay be?
              • Are there limits to my naturopathic coverage?
            • Before seeking medical care, it’s key to understand the difference between a naturopathic doctor and a naturopath. Anyone may advertise themselves as a naturopath, while to be a licensed naturopathic doctor, a person must complete academic and clinical training.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
